FACAP INVESTIGATOR OF THE YEAR AWARDS

Since 1989, the Florida Advisory Committee on Arson Prevention has sponsored FACAP’s Investigator of the Year Award to honor those individuals whose efforts have contributed to the suppression of arson in the State of Florida. Each year this award is presented to a member of fire service and law enforcement who has had an impact, through his/her fire investigations, arrests, community services, on combating the crime of arson.

This years recipient of FACAP's Investigator of the Year Award was presented to Detective Thomas Barron with the State Fire Marshal's Office, Bureau of Fire and Arson Investigation. Detective Barron started his career as a firefighter in Lynn Haven, FL in 1985 rose to the rank of Asst. Chief. He has been a Law Enforcement Detective with the Florida State Fire Marshal's Office since 1998. He was recommended for the award as one of the Bureau's most ethical detectives, and further described as likeable, hardworking, dedicated and a team worker. He is a senior detective in his region and maintains one of the highest caseloads and arrest records in his region. Congratulations to Detective Thomas Barron as this years recipient of the FACAP Investigator of the Year Award.
